KATABATIC SPIRE-RANGE · WCAG 2.2 LEVEL AA CONFORMANCE

Accessibility Statement

Across the Katabatic Spire-Range, clear sightlines, steady footing, and reliable rigging let every navigator read the climb. GlacierKite is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard so visitors in Canada and worldwide can explore our independent platformer guides with keyboard controls, screen readers, reduced motion, and high-contrast glacial daylight colours.

VERIFIED INTERFACE ARCHITECTURE · FOUR CORE COMMITMENTS

How GlacierKite Is Rigged for Every Navigator

Every page on GlacierKite follows strict engineering rules for silent motion, keyboard focus, daylight contrast, and non-visual semantics.

1. Silent Video & Reduced-Motion Controls

The opening hero video on the Spire Range home page is completely silent and contains no audio track, preventing unexpected sound interference with screen readers. An explicit pause and play button is anchored directly on the hero stage alongside a site-wide motion toggle in the top navigation bar. When your operating system or browser signals prefers-reduced-motion: reduce, the looping video is automatically replaced by a crisp static illustration and all CSS transitions settle immediately.

2. Full Keyboard Navigability & Focus Rings

Every interactive element—navigation links, motion toggles, expandable publisher facts disclosures (<details> and <summary>), and official game buttons—is reachable and operable using only a keyboard (Tab, Shift + Tab, Enter, and Space). A high-visibility Skip to main content link appears on the first tab stop of every page, and focused controls display a bold 3-pixel cobalt outline (#0055D4) with a 2-pixel offset.

3. High-Contrast Glacial Daylight Palette

Rather than setting pale text over murky dark overlays, GlacierKite renders its illustrations at full painted brightness and places deep abyssal navy ink (#08142C) on sunlit snow-firn grounds (#EEF5FC) and frosted glacier-glass panels, achieving luminance contrast ratios above 13:1. Primary ripstop scarlet (#B81606) and cobalt (#1643A8) action buttons pair with crisp white type above 5.6:1, and no text on the site falls below 12px (0.75rem).

4. Descriptive Alt Text & Semantic Landmarks

Every original game cover, character portrait of Glacivar and Kiterra Vane, and narrative scene carries descriptive alternative text so screen-reader users experience the visual world alongside the facts. Purely decorative ice-crystal cut-outs, corner brackets, and background textures carry empty alt="" attributes or aria-hidden="true" so assistive technology reads cleanly without clutter.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION READOUT · FOUR WCAG PRINCIPLES

WCAG 2.2 Level AA Implementation Matrix

We evaluate every page template across the four foundational principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust) and verify that the site remains 100% readable when JavaScript is disabled or unavailable.

WCAG 2.2 Principle GlacierKite Implementation Key Criteria Covered
Perceivable Descriptive alt attributes on all editorial illustrations; silent hero video with static fallback; minimum 13:1 body text contrast on snow-firn and frosted glass; fluid layout from 320px phone screens to widescreen desktops with up to 200% text zoom and no horizontal scrolling. 1.1.1 Non-text Content, 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum), 1.4.4 Resize Text, 1.4.10 Reflow, 1.4.11 Non-text Contrast
Operable Full keyboard support with zero keyboard traps; skip-to-content link; explicit pause buttons for hero video and ambient motion; automatic obedience to prefers-reduced-motion; touch targets and navigation links sized with generous spacing; clear focus indicators. 2.1.1 Keyboard, 2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide, 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks, 2.4.7 Focus Visible, 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum)
Understandable Canadian English language declaration (lang="en-CA"); consistent pill header and crystalline footer navigation across all pages; plain-language facts strips (<dl>) stating price, in-game purchases, ads, accounts, and chat in identical order for all eight games. 3.1.1 Language of Page, 3.2.3 Consistent Navigation, 3.2.4 Consistent Identification
Robust Valid HTML5 landmark structure (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <section>, <article>, <footer>); native <details> disclosure widgets that work without scripts; screen-reader notes on external official game links announcing that they open in a new tab. 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value

Scope & External Official Game Websites

This Accessibility Statement applies to all pages hosted on glacierkite.com (Spire Range, Sky-Course Arenas, Solo Ascents, About & Contact, Privacy, and Accessibility). GlacierKite is an independent guide and does not host embedded browser games. When you select a Play on Official Site button for any of the eight featured free-to-play games—Under the Red Sky, Stickman Hook, Goober Dash, LOLBeans.io, Level Devil, Blumgi Slime, G-Switch 4, or Subway Surfers—you leave GlacierKite and visit the external website operated by that game's respective publisher or store platform. Each external game's controls, audio, and accessibility options are governed by its own publisher.

Our game guides are based on information published by each game's developer or publisher and on official store pages, checked on October 26, 2026. We don't score or rate games.
